Who Still Uses Payphones?
Does anyone still use public telephones? Do payphones still exist? Yes, and yes.
This photo essay puts a face to the anonymous demographic of people who use payphones in a time when all humans are expected to carry cell phones with them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
There seems to be a conventional wisdom that nobody uses payphones any more. This is simply not true, as this ongoing series of photos demonstrates. Most of these pictures are by ME (Mark A. Thomas).
